Unprovoked, multi-front attacks on Israel over Shabbat and the Simchat Torah holiday surprised the nation and Jews the world over, its impact emphasized by the fact Israelis are this week commemorating 50 years since the Yom Kippur War.
Columbia Jewish Federation is in close contact with our overseas partners, and we anticipate an unprecedented need for cash to assist victims of terror and their families. Heavy casualties and hundreds of deaths among civilians and the
military are being reported. Numerous Israelis, including women and children, have been taken hostage. Many more have been injured as thousands of rockets and terrorist attacks have been aimed at civilian population centers all over Israel.
This is a time for unity of the Jewish people in Israel and globally. We call on our community to stand in solidarity with Israel during this time.
As always, Columbia Jewish Federation will absorb all administrative costs so that 100 percent of funds donated will provide critically needed aid to victims and their families.
